AksharChem India received Rs 6.08 crore as a full and final insurance settlement from New India Assurance for the May 2, 2024 fire at its dry-zone plant in Mahesana. This includes Rs 5.80 crore paid in August 2025 and Rs 0.28 crore paid on October 7, 2025 after a Rs 0.02 crore excess deduction. Estimated damage was Rs 6.10 crore. Production resumed on December 13, 2024, and the company said the fire had no material financial impact.
The claim nearly offsets the Rs 6.10 crore fire loss and reduces recovery uncertainty, supporting cash flow; no material financial impact was reported.
