Alkem Laboratories has launched NeuCeno (cenobamate), an anti-seizure medication for partial-onset seizures in adult epilepsy patients in India. This is the first launch of cenobamate in India. NeuCeno is a once-daily oral therapy available in six dosage strengths from 12.5 mg to 200 mg. Clinical studies showed up to 78 percent reduction in seizure frequency, with up to 30 percent of patients achieving seizure freedom. India has about 9.4 million epilepsy patients, presenting a large addressable market for this new therapy.
Positive for Alkem as it expands the neurology portfolio with a first-in-India launch of an advanced epilepsy therapy in a large market.
