On the reaction day the stock moved 1.8 pts less than Nifty 100 and 1.1 pts less than its Cement & Cement Products peers, over the same two closes: a difference in percentage points, not a measure of what the filing did.
Minute windows have no benchmark: there is no intraday index history to compare against.
Shareholders of Ambuja Cements approved the scheme to merge Orient Cement into Ambuja Cements at an NCLT convened meeting on Sept 28, 2026. The resolution passed with 99.98 percent majority. Total valid votes polled: 225.46 crore shares; votes in favor: 225.41 crore; against: 4.18 lakh. Promoter group holding 67.33 percent (167.20 crore shares) and public shareholders both approved the scheme with requisite majority.
Brings Ambuja closer to completing Orient Cement acquisition; expansion in cement capacity likely once NCLT and other approvals come through.
