ASK Automotive loses GST appeal; Rs 1.07 Cr tax demand upheld, plans further appeal

ASK Automotive received an order from the Deputy Commissioner (Appeals), Hosur disallowing its appeal against a GST tax demand of Rs 1.07 crore (including GST, interest and penalty) under Section 74 of the CGST and TNGST Acts. The order relates to a demand originally raised by the Deputy State Tax Officer II, Hosur South 1 Assessment Circle. The company says the demand is not maintainable in law and will file a further appeal with a higher authority. It states there is no material impact on financials, operations or other activities.
