AstraZeneca Pharma India has received approval from CDSCO to import and distribute a new drug called Datopotamab Deruxtecan (brand name Datverzo) in India. It is meant for adult patients with a specific type of advanced breast cancer (HR-positive, HER2-negative) who have already received prior endocrine therapy and chemotherapy. This paves the way for marketing the drug in India, subject to other statutory approvals.
Positive for the company as it expands its oncology portfolio in India with a new breast cancer drug, offering potential revenue upside.
