Atul Auto had filed a petition under Section 9 of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016 against its former authorised dealer M/s. Echo Motors and Automobiles Private Limited (Guwahati dealer until 2019) before the NCLT Guwahati bench to recover unpaid dues from vehicles supplied on credit. The NCLT has admitted the petition and ordered the start of the Corporate Insolvency Resolution Process (CIRP) against Echo Motors, with the order pronounced on August 20, 2025 and written order received on August 21, 2025. The total claim amount is Rs. 3,35,36,330 (about Rs. 3.35 crore). Recovery, if successful, will be equivalent to the amount realised through the CIRP process.
