Bajaj Finance reported standalone Q1 FY26 profit after tax of ₹4,133 crore, up 22% from ₹3,402 crore in Q1 FY25. Total income rose 22% to ₹16,697 crore, led by 22% growth in interest income to ₹14,491 crore. On a consolidated basis, PAT grew 22% to ₹4,765 crore and assets under management expanded 25% to ₹4.41 lakh crore. Customer franchise grew 21% to 106.51 million, with 13.49 million new loans booked (up 23%). Pre-provisioning operating profit rose 22% to ₹8,487 crore. The joint auditors (Price Waterhouse LLP and Kirtane & Pandit LLP) issued an unmodified opinion with no qualifications.
Strong AUM and profit growth reinforce the company's positioning as a leading non-bank lender, but a slight uptick in gross NPAs (to 1.28% standalone, 1.03% consolidated) and a leadership change with Rajeev Jain re-designated as VC & MD replacing Anup Saha are points to watch. Share subdivision (₹2 to ₹1) and 4:1 bonus issue completed in June have increased share count 5x, with prior period EPS restated accordingly.
