Balkrishna Paper Mills board on Dec 23, 2025 approved a scheme of reduction of share capital. The company has accumulated losses of about Rs 278.39 crore as of Sept 30, 2025. Under the plan, equity face value will cut from Rs 10 to Re 1 per share, and 1.10 crore 6.5% non-cumulative preference shares of Rs 100 each held by related parties (about Rs 110 crore) will be cancelled. Securities premium of Rs 23.28 crore will be used first. Number of equity shares stays unchanged. Subject to NCLT, BSE, NSE, SEBI and shareholder approvals via postal ballot.
Equity face value drops from Rs 10 to Re 1 but share count and ownership unchanged. Preference shares get cancelled. Signals balance sheet cleanup, not new cash inflow.
