Bank of Baroda Q1 FY26-27 standalone net profit fell about 72% YoY to 1,278 crore vs 4,541 crore, hit by a 5,680 crore exceptional charge for the NMC Group legal settlement (USD 600 million paid on July 1, 2026). Total income rose to 36,681 crore from 35,766 crore. Excluding the one-time hit, operating profit was 8,127 crore. Asset quality improved: Gross NPA 1.99% vs 2.28%, Net NPA 0.50% vs 0.60%. Capital adequacy at 16.30%. Auditors issued an unmodified opinion with emphasis of matter on the NMC settlement.
Sharp profit drop is driven by a one-time NMC legal settlement. Underlying business and asset quality remain healthy, limiting long-term damage.
