Bharat Coking Coal Limited has commenced commercial operations of its new 2.0 MTPA (20 lakh tonnes per annum) Bhojudih Coal Washery from 26th May 2026. This is a three-product medium coking coal washery built under a Build, Operate and Maintain model. The facility uses advanced technologies including Heavy Media Cyclone, Spiral Concentrator, and Froth Flotation for coal beneficiaton. The washery will produce washed coking coal specifically for supply to the steel sector.
The commencement adds new washing capacity for coking coal, supporting BCCL's ability to serve the domestic steel industry with higher-value washed coal products.
