Bharat Dynamics has appointed Shri Shailesh Vagerwal as Chairman and Managing Director effective July 9, 2026. The appointment is based on a Ministry of Defence order dated June 18, 2026. Mr. Vagerwal is an Indian Ordnance Factories Service officer with nearly 30 years of experience in defence manufacturing. He previously served as Chief General Manager at Ordnance Factory Khamaria under Munitions India Limited. He holds a BE in Mechanical Engineering and an MSc in Explosive Ordnance Engineering from Cranfield University, UK.
New CMD brings nearly 30 years of defence manufacturing experience. Government-backed appointment expected to support BDL's strategic direction and growth.
