On the reaction day the stock moved 5.1 pts more than Nifty Midcap 150 and 5.8 pts more than its Auto Components & Equipments peers, over the same two closes: a difference in percentage points, not a measure of what the filing did.
Minute windows have no benchmark: there is no intraday index history to compare against.
Bharat Forge said it bid in March 2023 for 425,000 Close Quarters Battle Carbines for the Indian Army. After trials and commercial bids opened in July 2025, it was selected as the lowest bidder for 60% of the supply. Contract finalisation with the Ministry of Defence is under way, but no contract has been signed and the reported ₹2,770 crore value was not confirmed.
The defence opportunity may support investor sentiment, but there is no firm order value or revenue until the contract is signed.
