Petrobras, operator of the BM-SEAL-11 consortium, has signed an FPSO construction contract with SBM Offshore for the SEAP-I Project in Brazil. BPCL's subsidiary BPRL holds a 65.4 percent stake in IBV Brasil, which in turn has 40 percent interest in the concession. The FPSO will process 120,000 barrels of oil and 10 million cubic metres of gas per day. IBV's total investment is around USD 2.8 billion, pending Indian government approval. The contract runs on a Build-Operate-Transfer model for 6.5 years.
Strengthens BPCL's overseas oil and gas portfolio and provides equity oil access, supporting long-term energy security. Positive but subject to approvals and execution risk.
