Bharti Airtel has completed acquiring about 16.3% stake (59.52 crore shares) in UK-listed subsidiary Airtel Africa from Indian Continent Investment Limited, raising its holding in Airtel Africa to about 79%. In return, it allotted about 14.68 crore new equity shares to ICIL on a preferential basis, making ICIL hold about 3.25% of Bharti Airtel's post-issue equity. The company's paid-up equity capital has risen to about INR 312.02 crore.
