Blue Star Limited's Executive Management Committee has approved the acquisition of the remaining 51% shareholding in Blue Star Qatar W.L.L. (BSQ) from local partner Al Malki Trading & Contracting Co. (ATC). BSQ is currently a subsidiary of Blue Star with 49% shareholding but 95% economic interest held by the Company, as it was structured this way due to Qatar's former requirement that a minimum 51% shareholding be held by a local Qatari national. Following regulatory changes in Qatar permitting 100% foreign ownership, the Company is now buying out ATC's stake. The total consideration is at face value of QAR 102,000 (approximately ₹50 lakh, subject to fair market valuation). BSQ, which operates in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in Doha, had turnover of QAR 53 million in FY 2025-26. The transaction requires approvals from RBI, Qatar's General Tax Authority, Ministry of Labour, and Ministry of Commerce & Industry, and is expected to complete within 8 months.
This is a routine structural consolidation — Blue Star already controls and consolidates BSQ, so this acquisition does not change control and is not expected to have any material impact on the company's financials or stock price.
