On the reaction day the stock moved 0.8 pts more than Nifty Midcap 150 and 1.5 pts more than its Capital Markets peers, over the same two closes: a difference in percentage points, not a measure of what the filing did.
Minute windows have no benchmark: there is no intraday index history to compare against.
BSE Limited has signed a Share Purchase Agreement to sell its entire 100% stake in BSE Institute Limited (BIL) to AV Financial Experts Network Private Limited for a total consideration of ₹16.90 crores. BIL is a small subsidiary contributing only about 1.55% of BSE's turnover (₹25.01 crores in FY24) and 1.79% of net worth (₹59.02 crores in FY24). The transaction is not a related party deal and the buyer is not connected to BSE's promoters. The deal is expected to close by May 31, 2025, subject to pre-closing obligations. Notably, BIL had recently returned ₹49 crores to BSE Limited following an NCLT-ordered capital reduction on March 27, 2025.
The sale is small relative to BSE's overall size and should not materially affect the stock price. Shareholders get a cleaner company focused on its core exchange business, plus ₹16.90 crores in cash inflow, though the consideration is well below BIL's book net worth of ₹52.24 crores as of March 2025.
