Ceigall India, through two wholly owned subsidiaries, has signed 25-year Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) with Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company (MSEDCL) for a combined 337 MW of solar power capacity. The projects fall under the state government's Mukhyamantri Saur Krushi Vahini Yojana 2.0 (MSKVY 2.0) scheme. Ceigall will set up solar power plants in six districts of Maharashtra with a combined EPC cost of about Rs. 1,369 crore including GST (Rs. 772 crore for the 190 MW project and Rs. 597 crore for the 147 MW project). Power will be supplied at tariffs between Rs. 2.72 and Rs. 2.86 per unit, with 18 months given for project execution and a 25-year operations period. The move marks Ceigall's strategic expansion into renewable energy alongside its core highway and infrastructure EPC business.
Positive for shareholders — the order meaningfully strengthens Ceigall's order book, diversifies revenue into long-term annuity-style renewable income, and signals the company's evolution from a pure EPC contractor into a developer-operator of large infrastructure assets. Likely to be viewed favorably by the market given the size and duration of the contracts.
