Centum Electronics has secured an order from Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), a government defence PSU, for design and development of the Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) Radar System for the Utility Helicopter-Maritime (UH-M) platform. The Phase-1 order is valued at ₹66 crore (gross ₹78 crore including GST) and is to be delivered over the next two financial years. Upon successful Phase-1 execution, Phase-2 is expected to follow for serial production and supply of AESA radar systems over five years, with an indicative value of ₹500 crore (gross ~₹590 crore). The total potential deal value could therefore reach roughly ₹566 crore (net), marking a significant milestone for Centum's defence electronics business and reinforcing its long-standing partnership with HAL.
Positive for shareholders — this is a high-value defence order that strengthens Centum's order book and pipeline, potentially boosting revenue over the medium term. The Phase-2 indicative value of ~₹500 crore is materially large relative to the company's annual revenue and could support future earnings growth if executed well.
