Concord Control Systems has increased its stake in Progota India Private Limited to 46.50%, up from a previous lower holding. The strategic investment targets the commercialisation and nationwide rollout of Kavach 4.0, India's Automatic Train Protection (ATP) rail safety system. Indian Railways plans to deploy Kavach on 10,000 locomotives and 34,000 route kilometres over six years, with the annual Kavach market projected at ₹13–15 billion through FY26–FY28. Progota, incorporated in 2021, specialises in railway automation and Kavach ATP development. The deal combines Concord's manufacturing strength with Progota's R&D capabilities, positioning both firms as key contributors to the Atmanirbhar Bharat rail modernisation push.
Positive for shareholders — the deeper stake in Progota gives Concord direct exposure to the fast-growing Kavach safety market and Indian Railways' multi-year rollout pipeline. The move strengthens Concord's order book visibility and positions it as a long-term beneficiary of India's rail safety modernisation spending.
