Dalmia Bharat's wholly owned subsidiary Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Limited has entered into agreements to acquire a 41% stake (26% on fully-diluted basis) in Oyster Green Hybrid Five Private Limited for Rs. 17.35 crore in cash. The target company is a Special Purpose Vehicle set up for hybrid wind-solar power generation (21.6 MW Wind + 14 MWp Solar) in Andhra Pradesh. This acquisition will enable Dalmia to source renewable power as a captive consumer for its Kadapa plant, supporting the group's commitment to achieve RE 100 by 2030 and carbon negative operations by 2040. The deal is not a related party transaction and is expected to close within four months.
This acquisition strengthens Dalmia Bharat's renewable energy sourcing capabilities, supporting its green commitments. While the deal size is modest at Rs. 17.35 crore, it signals continued progress on sustainability goals and may have a marginally positive sentiment effect on the stock.
