Quarterly profit was Rs 183.91 crore versus Rs 155.47 crore a year ago. Total income rose to Rs 2,008.84 crore from Rs 1,773.04 crore, while provisions rose to Rs 60.53 crore from Rs 45.60 crore. Gross bad loans fell to 2.91 percent of advances from 3.29 percent. Capital adequacy was 16.41 percent. Aga Khan Fund bought 6,058,394 shares at Rs 137 each for Rs 83 crore.
Profit growth of 18 percent and lower gross bad loans support the stock, though higher provisions and the promoter share purchase are dilutive.
