DCM Shriram's Board has approved the transfer of 50% equity stake in Shriram Polytech Limited (SPL) to Teknor Apex B.V. for USD 5.6 million in cash. Following this transaction, SPL will cease to be a wholly-owned subsidiary and will be reclassified as a Joint Venture. SPL had turnover of ₹201.63 crores and net worth of ₹78.36 crores as of March 31, 2025, contributing about 1.58% to DCM Shriram's turnover. The deal is expected to complete by April 23, 2026. Teknor Apex B.V. is a Dutch company engaged in thermoplastic elastomers and is unrelated to DCM Shriram's promoter group. The JV aims to combine SPL's domestic manufacturing expertise with Teknor's global formulation capabilities for specialty polymer solutions.
This transaction is relatively small (1.58% of revenue) but strategically significant as it brings a global partner to strengthen DCM Shriram's advanced materials polymer compounds business. The stock movement will likely depend on investor perception of the JV's growth potential rather than immediate financial impact.
