DCM Shriram's Board has approved the transfer of 50% equity stake in its wholly owned subsidiary Shriram Polytech Limited (SPL) to Teknor Apex B.V. for USD 5.6 million in cash. Following this transaction, SPL will cease to be a wholly owned subsidiary and be reclassified as a Joint Venture. SPL had turnover of Rs 201.63 crores and net worth of Rs 78.36 crores as of March 31, 2025, contributing about 1.58% of the company's turnover. The deal is expected to complete on April 23, 2026. The partnership aims to combine SPL's domestic manufacturing expertise in vinyl compounds with Teknor Apex's global formulation capabilities to deliver advanced specialty polymer solutions.
The transaction reduces DCM Shriram's stake in SPL from 100% to 50%, making it a joint venture. This is a strategic move to strengthen the advanced materials polymer compounds business and expand global partnerships, with relatively modest financial impact given SPL contributes only about 1.6% of group turnover.
