The Board approved acquiring 100% stakes in four Gujarat salt companies for cash consideration of Rs 175 crore. The targets hold salt lease land of 1,077 acres and had combined FY25 turnover of Rs 35.49 crore, with a net loss of Rs 0.54 crore. The deal aims to support backward integration of the chemical business into salt and is expected to close by June 2026, subject to approvals.
The deal improves supply control for the chemicals business, but the cash cost and execution risk may affect near-term shareholder returns.
