Devyani International, the operator of KFC, Pizza Hut and Costa Coffee outlets in India, has reported its FY25 audited results. Consolidated revenue from operations rose to about INR 4,951 crore, up roughly 39% from INR 3,556 crore in FY24, driven by store additions and same-store growth. The company swung back to a consolidated profit after tax for the full year (basic EPS of INR 0.39) compared with a loss in the prior year. On a standalone basis, FY25 PAT was INR 23.7 crore versus a loss of INR 6.3 crore in FY24, though standalone results were impacted by exceptional items of about INR 116 crore. Joint statutory auditors Walker Chandiok & Co LLP and O P Bagla & Co LLP issued an unmodified (clean) opinion. The board also approved acquiring up to 80.72% in Sky Gate Hospitality for about INR 419.6 crore.
Strong double-digit revenue growth and a return to consolidated profitability are positives for shareholders, supporting improved sentiment on the stock. However, the large exceptional charge on a standalone basis and the sizeable cash outflow for the Sky Gate acquisition are points to watch in the near term.
