Dilip Buildcon has disclosed a landslide at its Anakkampoyil Kalladi Meppadi tunnel project site in Wayanad, Kerala, triggered by exceptionally heavy rainfall of about 265 mm in 24 hours, roughly 9 to 10 times the normal July daily rainfall. The company states the project was executed in full compliance with engineering, safety and environmental approvals, and is overseen by multiple regulators including a Supreme Court appointed Central Empowered Committee. The firm is cooperating with rescue and relief operations and assisting authorities to account for all personnel at the site.
Could delay the Wayanad tunnel project, invite regulatory scrutiny and raise potential liability and reputational concerns for shareholders.
