Dixon and Taiwan's Gemtek signed a binding term sheet on June 9, 2026, for a joint venture to make optical transceivers (SFP) and BOSA modules in India. Dixon's wholly-owned subsidiary Dixon Electroconnect will be the JV vehicle, with Dixon holding 60 percent and Gemtek 40 percent post-deal. Marks Dixon's entry into data center, telecom and optical connectivity. Electroconnect is a beneficiary under the government ECMS scheme. Deal is subject to definitive agreements and regulatory approvals.
JV targets AI and cloud-driven optical connectivity demand, aligns with Make in India, with Dixon retaining majority control at 60 percent.
