Dixon Technologies signed an agreement to buy 16,150,943 existing shares and subscribe to 4,716,981 new shares in Kunshan Q Tech Microelectronics India, giving it 51% for about INR 553 crore. Q Tech Singapore will retain 49%. The target makes camera and fingerprint modules for mobile handsets, connected devices and vehicles, with FY2024-25 turnover of INR 1,977.21 crore. Closing is expected within 90 days, subject to conditions and approvals.
The deal may improve Dixon's growth and technology capabilities through greater control of key mobile components, but adds cash needs and completion risk.
