Eco Recycling Ltd is expanding its e-waste recycling capacity by 18,000 metric tonnes per annum (MTPA) and setting up a dedicated 6,000 MTPA facility for processing lithium-ion batteries in a new 40,000 sq. ft. plant in Vasai, near Mumbai. The expansion is fully funded through internal accruals, keeping the company debt-free. The new capacity aligns with India's E-waste Management Rules, 2022 and Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) obligations. The company has also become the first Indian e-waste recycler to join the international TERRA recycling alliance, and was recently mentioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his 'Mann Ki Baat' address.
This capacity expansion positions Eco Recycling to benefit from stricter e-waste compliance rules and rising EPR obligations, potentially driving future revenue growth. Being debt-funded internally and gaining international recognition through TERRA strengthens the company's credibility and competitive position, which is a positive signal for long-term shareholders.
