Elecon Engineering has informed the stock exchanges that its Chief Financial Officer, Mr. Narasimhan Raghunathan, has resigned effective close of business hours on January 31, 2026, citing personal and family commitments related to his children's education at his hometown. He will also cease to be a Key Managerial Personnel (KMP). The company has not announced a replacement yet. Along with this, Elecon reported its Q3 FY26 (quarter ended December 31, 2025) results on a consolidated basis: revenue rose 4.3% year-on-year to ₹552 crores, but profit after tax fell about 33% to ₹72 crores, with EBITDA margins dropping sharply from 27.0% to 19.8%. Standalone revenue was ₹45,416 lakhs versus ₹44,632 lakhs a year ago, with standalone net profit of ₹6,189 lakhs versus ₹9,198 lakhs. The order book stood at ₹1,372 crores, and the company guided that FY26 revenue could be lower by up to 5% with adjusted EBITDA margins down by up to 2%.
The CFO resignation, while due to personal reasons, creates short-term leadership uncertainty in finance during a quarter of weak profitability, and investors will watch for a timely replacement announcement. The sharp decline in margins and profit alongside lowered FY26 guidance is likely to weigh negatively on near-term sentiment, even though the healthy ₹1,372 crore order book offers revenue visibility going forward.
