Elecon Engineering's board, at its meeting on April 15, 2026, made several key decisions. Mr. Chintan Shah (ex-Big4, ~19 years finance experience) was appointed as new CFO and KMP with immediate effect. The board approved audited Q4 and FY26 results along with a recommended final dividend of Rs. 1.50 per share (150%) on the Rs. 1 face value equity, in addition to the Rs. 0.50 interim dividend already paid. On a standalone basis, FY26 revenue rose to Rs. 2,01,604 lakhs (vs Rs. 1,87,112 lakhs in FY25, ~8% growth), while net profit jumped to Rs. 47,670 lakhs (vs Rs. 34,003 lakhs, ~40% growth), aided by a one-time exceptional gain of Rs. 14,942 lakhs from the reclassification of the Eimco Elecon investment. EPS for FY26 stood at Rs. 21.24 versus Rs. 15.15 in the prior year. Consolidated FY26 net profit was Rs. 34,115 lakhs after a Rs. 10,177 lakhs goodwill impairment. CMD Prayasvin Patel was re-appointed for 3 years effective July 1, 2026, and Mr. Aayush Shah was appointed as Executive Director for 3 years effective October 1, 2026. Dr. Savan Godiawala joined as an Independent Director for 5 years. Statutory, internal, cost and tax auditors were also re-appointed for FY27 and beyond.
Strong profit growth, a 150% final dividend, and continued leadership under CMD Prayasvin Patel are positive for shareholders. The new external CFO brings diverse experience which may support future strategy, while the Rs. 10,177 lakh goodwill impairment in consolidated results is a one-time negative to watch.
