On the reaction day the stock moved 2.3 pts more than Nifty Microcap 250 and 2.7 pts more than its Residential Commercial Projects peers, over the same two closes: a difference in percentage points, not a measure of what the filing did.

Canara Bank filed insolvency petition under IBC Section 7 against Embassy Developments for Rs 372.35 crore, alleging it was a corporate guarantor for Sinnar Thermal Power loans. NCLT admitted the petition on Dec 9. Embassy appealed to NCLAT, which granted a stay on Dec 11, halting all proceedings. Management says the company is financially sound and denies any enforceable liability.
Stay offers temporary relief, but underlying Rs 372 crore insolvency claim remains a major overhang and risk for shareholders.
