The National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT) has set aside an earlier NCLT order that had admitted Corporate Insolvency Resolution Process (CIRP) against Embassy Developments. The appellate tribunal quashed and closed the insolvency proceedings, terminated all directions arising from the NCLT order, and subsumed earlier interim protection into the final judgment. The company states this was a legacy issue from its former identity as Indiabulls Real Estate, where a letter regarding equity shortfall funding for a past affiliate was misconstrued as a corporate guarantee. Embassy Developments reports strong FY26 performance with pre-sales of approximately ₹4,600 crore and says it remains financially sound with no impact on business operations.
Positive for shareholders as the company is fully relieved from insolvency proceedings. The quashing removes a significant overhang and legal uncertainty that had been weighing on the stock.
