On 27 October 2026, Exide invested about Rs 150 crore in new equity shares of wholly owned Exide Energy Solutions on a rights basis, taking total investment to Rs 5,352.23 crore. Ownership remains 100%. The funds will support a greenfield Bengaluru plant making lithium-ion battery cells, modules and packs. EESL reported FY26 turnover of Rs 157.56 crore and a loss of Rs 248.16 crore.
Supports EESL's battery expansion, but continued losses and a rising investment commitment may weigh on Exide's stock sentiment.
