Fujiyama Power Systems has commissioned a new 2,000 MW solar panel manufacturing facility at Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh, as part of a greenfield expansion project. This brings the company's total solar panel manufacturing capacity to 3,568 MW. The plant will initially run at ~1,000 MW under single-shift operations, gradually ramping up to full capacity by Q4FY27. The inverter and battery manufacturing lines at the same facility have experienced delays due to the company incorporating latest lithium-ion battery technology advancements and certain geopolitical supply disruptions. The inverter line is now expected to commission in Q1 FY27 and the battery line in Q2 FY27.
The solar panel commissioning is a positive signal of manufacturing scale-up, boosting capacity by over 50%. However, the delays in inverter and battery lines indicate execution headwinds, and the phased ramp-up of the new plant means full revenue contribution will be gradual.
