GAIL has pushed back the completion deadline for the remaining sections of its Jagdishpur–Haldia–Bokaro–Dhamra Pipeline project. The Durgapur–Haldia and Dhamra–Haldia sections were originally targeted for completion by March 2025 and will now be completed by December 2025. Of the main 3,306 km pipeline, 3,119 km has already been commissioned, while 198 km of the 240 km Dhamra–Haldia section has been laid and 150 km commissioned. The delay is attributed to challenges in obtaining Right of Use (RoU) permissions and availability of the fisheries front along the pipeline route.
The 9-month delay extends the project's timeline but is due to external land and regulatory hurdles rather than company-side issues. Near-term revenue from these sections is pushed back, though the financial impact appears limited as remaining investment is noted as not applicable.
