GAIL (India) Limited's Board has approved doubling the capacity of its Jamnagar-Loni Petroleum Product (LPG) Pipeline (JLPL) from 3.25 MMTPA to 6.5 MMTPA, adding 3.25 MMTPA of new capacity. The project carries an investment of Rs. 5,363.88 Crore, to be funded through a mix of debt and equity, and is targeted for completion within 36 months from the PNGRB authorization dated 23.07.2025. The existing pipeline is already running at near-full capacity (3.22 MMTPA utilization), so the expansion is aimed at supporting business growth and meeting rising LPG demand. This is a continuation of GAIL's earlier communication dated 25.07.2025.
This is a significant capital expenditure that could strengthen GAIL's LPG transportation business and future revenue, but it may also increase debt levels and put short-term pressure on cash flows during the 3-year execution period.
