Ganesha Ecosphere's wholly owned subsidiary Ganesha Ecopet has decided to drop the previously announced greenfield rPET project in Odisha (67,500 TPA) citing market dynamics. Instead, the company will expand its existing Warangal facility by 22,500 TPA, taking total installed capacity to 87,000 TPA. The expansion requires Rs. 125 crore investment funded by a mix of debt, equity, and internal accruals, targeted to be completed by March 2027. Current capacity utilization stands at around 85%.
The company is pivoting from greenfield expansion to brownfield expansion at an existing facility, which is a lower-risk approach. The decision to drop the Odisha project suggests caution on market demand outlook, though strong utilization rates (~85%) indicate solid underlying business performance.
