GE Power India Limited (GEPIL) has entered into two agreements with Quality Profiles Private Limited (QPPL) - a Leave and License Agreement for using its Vadodara facility and a Contract Manufacturing Agreement for refurbishment and repair of large rotating equipment like steam turbine components. Under the arrangement, GEPIL will invest INR 18 crores in civil infrastructure and plant equipment while QPPL will invest INR 25 crores in machinery. GEPIL commits to minimum annual payments of INR 10 crores to QPPL (increasing 7% annually). The license term is 60 months with a 48-month lock-in period, and QPPL will manufacture exclusively for GEPIL. QPPL had turnover of INR 36.2 crores as of March 2025. The arrangement is not a related party transaction.
This is a strategic move to set up a dedicated refurbishment facility, which could improve execution capacity and reduce turnaround times for GEPIL's turbine repair operations. The minimum annual commitment creates predictable cost flows while the 5-year lock-in ensures operational stability.
