NIBE Group has inaugurated a new state-of-the-art defence manufacturing complex in Shirdi, Maharashtra, attended by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. The facility includes a 155mm ammunition shell plant with capacity of 5 lakh shells annually, indigenous TNT and RDX plant technologies, a Bio-CNG and Hydrogen Fuel Plant, and a Space and Satellite Technologies division. The highlight was the flag-off of India's first indigenous 300 KM Universal Rocket Launching System called 'Suryastra' and trials of the 100 KM loitering munition 'Skystriker'. The complex is expected to create over 3,000 direct employment opportunities and positions Maharashtra as a major defence corridor.
