Shareholders approved buying back up to 14.75 lakh equity shares, about 2.90% of 5.09 crore shares, at Rs 162 each for up to Rs 23.90 crore. The tender route excludes promoters, reserves at least 15% for small shareholders, and must finish within one year. The price is 20.49% above the September 23 close of Rs 134.45.
Eligible shareholders may receive cash at a premium, while non-participants gain ownership. The buy-back may improve per-share metrics if completed.
