GPIL invested extra Rs 100 crore in wholly owned subsidiary Godawari New Energy Pvt Ltd via rights issue of 1 crore equity shares at Rs 10 each at par. Total investment in GNEPL now stands at Rs 450 crore with 100 percent holding. Funds will be used for capex and working capital to set up a 20 GWh Battery Energy Storage System plant in the first phase, with operations planned in Maharashtra. GNEPL was incorporated in June 2025, has not started business yet, and reported a net worth of Rs 298.01 crore as of March 2026 with nil turnover.
Signals GPIL's push into energy storage vertical. Subsidiary not operational yet, so no immediate revenue impact, but adds long term growth optionality.
