Gokak Textiles has informed BSE that its Solar Power Plant at Gokak Falls, Karnataka, which suffered a fire and equipment failure earlier in the year, has been fully restored. The damaged transformers, inverter, and other equipment were repaired and recommissioned by 25th July 2025, and the plant has been running reliably since 31st July 2025, achieving consistent peak generation of 40MW over the last 20 days. The company has filed an insurance claim of Rs. 3.25 Crores against an actual damage assessment of Rs. 1.89 Crores. This is the final update in a series of disclosures about the incident that began in January 2025.
The plant is back to full operational capacity, removing the overhang on power generation for the company. The insurance claim of Rs. 3.25 Crores exceeds the Rs. 1.89 Crore damage, potentially resulting in a small surplus, though there may have been revenue loss during the shutdown period. This is a positive resolution for shareholders.
