Gopal Snacks has resumed operations at its Rajkot Main Plant after a fire incident in December 2024 had shut down the facility. The company obtained necessary government approvals to restart manufacturing. The Rajkot facility will operate with an installed capacity of 1,05,233 MTPA, producing Gathiya, Namkeen, Snack Pellets and Extruded Snacks. The company plans to discontinue Gondal facility operations and consolidate all production at Rajkot, expecting improved profitability through lower power costs from the boiler-based system, reduced transportation costs due to better proximity to dealers in Saurashtra, and lower labour costs. Other ancillary plants were unaffected by the fire and continued normal operations.
Positive development for shareholders as the company restores full operational capacity. Expected cost savings from consolidated manufacturing should improve margins, though the discontinuation of Gondal facility signals a strategic shift in production footprint.
