Grasim Industries' Birla Opus Paints has started commercial production at its new Resin Block at Kharagpur, West Bengal on 12 November 2025. The block has an installed capacity of 24 million litres per annum (MLPA). With this, total Resin Block capacity across all Birla Opus plants rises to 92 MLPA. Emulsion Block capacity stands at 376 MLPA. Output will serve the domestic market.
Capacity expansion supports growth in the paints segment, potentially lifting volumes and margins for Grasim's Birla Opus business over time.
