Greenply Industries has informed exchanges that its wholly owned subsidiary, Greenply Speciality Panels Pvt. Ltd., will temporarily shut down its MDF plant at Sherpura, Vadodara, Gujarat for about 4 weeks starting August 12, 2025. The shutdown is to carry out an extension of the ContiRoll press of the MDF machinery. Once the work is completed, the plant's production capacity is expected to rise from 800 cbm per day to 1000 cbm per day, a 25% increase. The company has stated that it has built adequate inventory in advance, so product supply to the market will not be disrupted during the shutdown period.
Short-term: minimal impact on revenue as inventory backup is in place. Medium-term: positive, as a 25% capacity boost at the Vadodara MDF plant should improve margins and market share once operations resume in mid-September 2025.
