Gujarat Energy (formerly Gujarat Gas) paid a record Rs. 324 crore dividend to the Government of Gujarat for FY 2025-26. GSPL Transmission paid another Rs. 60.67 crore, totaling Rs. 384.67 crore. This follows the May 2026 merger of GSPC into GGL, which raised GoG's stake from about 6% to about 38%. Dividend per share rose to Rs. 8.90 versus Rs. 5.66-6.65 earlier.
Strong payout signals improved financial health post-restructuring. Higher government holding may boost policy support but brings state influence concerns.
