Highness Microelectronics has commissioned a new glass cutting line at its Rabale plant in Navi Mumbai, with commercial production starting October 19, 2026. The line has a capacity of 300 glass units per day and processes TFT-LCD Open Cell glass with a tolerance of plus or minus 0.5 mm. The company claims it is India's only firm with this specialised glass cutting technology. Expected cost impact is around 10 percent initially, potentially rising to 30-40 percent as production scales. Applications include bar-type displays, railway passenger info systems, and industrial displays.
Strengthens in-house capabilities, reduces external processing dependence, and supports margin improvement as production scales up.
