Hikal Limited has received a Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) certificate from Japan's Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Agency (PMDA) for its Jigani (Bangalore Unit-1) API manufacturing facility. The PMDA had inspected the plant from May 19-22, 2025, and the site at KIADB Industrial Area, Jigani, Bangalore has now been confirmed compliant with Japanese GMP guidelines. This certification allows the company to manufacture and supply active pharmaceutical ingredients to the Japanese market, which is one of the world's largest pharmaceutical markets. The company has disclosed this under SEBI Listing Regulation 30.
Positive for shareholders — PMDA GMP certification opens the door to the high-value Japanese pharmaceutical market for Hikal's API business, potentially driving future export revenue growth and strengthening the company's global regulatory footprint.
