On the reaction day the stock moved 0.7 pts more than Nifty 100 and 0.8 pts more than its Aluminium peers, over the same two closes: a difference in percentage points, not a measure of what the filing did.
Minute windows have no benchmark: there is no intraday index history to compare against.
Hindalco's indirect wholly owned subsidiary Aditya Holdings filed a short-form declaration for the AluChem acquisition on August 6, 2025. The US Committee on Foreign Investment accepted it on August 12, and the initial 30-day review ended September 10, after which a long-form filing was submitted on September 30. The US government shutdown has paused review deadlines. After the shutdown ends, the process may take up to about 105 days, with deal terms unchanged.
The acquisition remains pending, so completion timing is uncertain. No change to deal terms or a quantified financial effect was disclosed.
